Privacy Policy
This policy describes how HammyTurf (the "Service") handles user information. It applies to the web version (hammyturf.io) as well as the iOS/Android apps and the LINE mini app (available in Japan), once each is released.
Account Registration
The Service has no account registration, and never asks you to enter personal information such as your name or email address.
Information Stored on Your Device
The following information is stored within your browser (or within the app, in the app versions). You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data (or the app's data).
- Your player ID (a randomly generated identifier, not linked to your name or other personal details)
- Your nickname (used to pre-fill the entry field)
- Your player rank, lifetime score, and other stats (used for rank display)
- The time an ad was last shown (used to space out ad display)
Of these, your player ID, nickname, and stats are also stored on the server as described below.
Information Sent to and Stored on the Server
While you are in a game, your nickname, player rank, and controls (movement direction) are sent to the game server, and are used to display you on other players' screens and to run the game. Controls are held in server memory only for as long as the game requires, and are never saved.
Your lifetime data (lifetime score, kills, seeds collected, and nickname) is stored in a server database keyed to your player ID, and is used to show your stats in later sessions and to transfer your data between devices. If you clear the nickname field, the stored nickname is deleted as well. To request deletion of your stored data, please contact us.
The data-transfer URL contains your player ID. The email carrying that URL is sent from your own mail app; the Service never receives your email address.
For server troubleshooting, connection addresses and similar data may be temporarily recorded in technical logs.
Leaderboards
If you place near the top, your nickname and results (score, kills, seeds collected) are published to all users on the leaderboards (top 100). Please do not use a nickname containing information you do not want made public, such as your real name.
Access and Usage Statistics
The Service may collect information such as:
- Browser version, operating system, IP address, and device type
- In-game statistics (final score, play time, etc.)
- Anonymized crash data
We also use Google Analytics (Google LLC), which collects information such as the following via cookies. For details on what is collected and how it is handled, see How Google uses information.
- Approximate location (country, region, etc.)
- Time of visit
- Referring site
How Collected Information Is Used
Collected information is used mainly for the following purposes:
- Improving the product and service
- Statistical and trend analysis of usage
- Detecting, investigating, and preventing abuse
Sharing with Third Parties
Except for transmissions to the advertising and analytics vendors described in this policy, we do not provide or share collected information with third parties, unless disclosure is required by law.
Advertising
The Service displays advertising served by third-party vendors. These vendors may use cookies and advertising identifiers to show ads based on your interests (personalized ads). The vendors are:
- Web version: Google AdSense (Google LLC)
- iOS/Android apps: Google AdMob (Google LLC)
- LINE mini app: LINE Yahoo Ads (LY Corporation)
For how Google uses information in advertising, see Google's advertising policy; to opt out of personalized ads, visit Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info. For LY Corporation's handling of information, see the LY Corporation Privacy Policy. In the app versions, you can also limit the use of advertising identifiers in your device settings (the "Tracking" settings on iOS; "Delete/reset advertising ID" on Android).
LINE Mini App Version
In the LINE mini app version (available in Japan), we may receive user identifiers and similar information from LY Corporation to the extent necessary to provide the Service. Such information is handled in accordance with this policy.
