Sunflower Seeds and the Space Meter
🌻 Sunflower seeds are scattered around the stage, and holding them boosts your share. A vertical bar on the left edge of the screen tells you how far the round has progressed. Both matter for winning, so here is how they work.
Sunflower seeds (bonus spots)
Each stage has 12 sunflower seeds placed apart from one another. Seeds are not picked up; they are captured by enclosing them. Make a loop that contains a seed and turns the area into your turf, and you now "hold" that seed.
- While you hold seeds, your share is calculated with +20% per seed. Two seeds give +40%, three give +60%. With 10% raw turf and three seeds, you are counted as 16%.
- Seeds never disappear. If an opponent captures the turf around a seed, the bonus moves to them.
- Seeds are placed away from both the center and the outer edge. Check the minimap and go for the nearest one.
Seeds are strategic strongholds worth fighting over. Players and teams holding many seeds rank higher, but their turf draws attention. Thicken the turf around a seed to make it harder to take.
Survive to the end of the round and the seeds you hold at that moment are recorded as seeds collected.
The bar on the left (space meter)
While you play, a vertical bar sits on the left edge of the screen. It is a meter of how much of the stage is covered by turf: 0% at the top, 100% at the bottom (completely full).
Colored segments
- The bar is divided into colored segments, one per player in Solo and one per team in Team Battle, stacked largest first.
- Find your color to see your position and how far you are from the top.
- The bar shows raw turf share, without the 🌻 seed bonus. Rankings do include the bonus, so the order on the bar can differ from the actual standings.
Red zone = end-of-round line
Near the bottom of the bar is a red zone. When total turf reaches it (about 60% of the stage), the ending countdown begins and the bar flashes.
- As the bar approaches the red zone, the round is about to end. Prioritize surviving over attempting a big loop.
- Turf still changes hands during the countdown. Standings often shift in the final seconds.
How rounds end and what gets recorded when you survive is covered in Rounds and Ranks.
